Week 8 Part A: How to Expand Your Reach on Instagram by Using Hashtags

I believe that visual media works great for our type of business. I think this is evident not only on our platforms, but on others in the same field. I took a loot at @sweetblossomweddings, @splendidsentiments, @amethyst_and_ivy, and @modernboquet Instagram's. I think they have somewhat found success with their visual media. It is a great way to display their work, but it doesn't seem to be engaging their audience. They use hashtags like #weddings, #weddingsflowers, #floralart, #creative, #SanDiego, #Temecula, and #design. They have a large range of followers between 500-5,000 and all seem to post around 1-3 times a week. They have all recently posted within the last 24 hours. The content that gets the best response are professionally taken photos, or at least photos of high quality. Specifically photos of events However, surprisingly, with the amount of followers they only receive around 50-100 likes per post and there aren't many comments. I think to improve this they could add some variety in their posts. Every post made was from a photographer of a wedding. There wasn't much of behind the scenes or other components that go into it. All followers see is the finished product. After looking at these four instagram accounts I think some hashtags that might work well for our business would be #wedding, #SanDiegoflorist, #boquet, #SanDiegowedding, and #floralarrangement. From all of my research I gathered that your follower amount only goes so far. The account with 500 followers was receiving the same amount of likes and comments as the accounts with 5,000. It is really important to keep your content engaging and unique to capture your audiences attention.
